What to Expect

Worship

At Glyndon Lutheran, we worship two different times throughout the week. We have a traditional service that takes place on Sundays at 9:00am. This service is typically led by organ and contains more of the liturgical feel. We also worship on Wednesdays at 6:15pm (during school year). This service is typically led by guitar and still maintains some aspects of liturgy while also being geared more towards families.

Whether you choose to join us Sunday or Wednesday, we hope that you will find an enriching faith experience in this place. It is also important to know that each week we celebrate that the Lord has welcomed us to the table where we receive Holy Communion. At the Lord’s table, all are truly welcome. Gluten Free Wafers and White Grape Juice are available.

Education

**GLC is in a transition period both post-COVID restrictions and as we seek for and install a new Pastor.  During this time some education may be in a flexible format and it’s best to use the “Contact Us” feature to ask about current education opportunities.  Traditionally, education is halted in the summer. **

The below is what GLC has typically offered, and hopes to offer again Fall of 2021:

We offer both Sunday School and Wednesday School for children Pre-K through 4th Grade. On Sundays, Sunday School takes place at 10:30am, meeting in the sanctuary. Wednesday School takes place from 5:45pm-6:10pm in the Upper Room (the room above the sanctuary).

5th and 6th Grade Faith Formation happens on Wednesdays right after school. Our youth are invited to join us following dismissal where they play games, enjoy a snack, and explore various Bible stories using the Connect curriculum. 5th and 6th grade youth meet from 3:15pm to 5pm on Wednesdays.

7th and 8th Grade Faith Formation typically happens on Wednesday nights from 7pm-8pm in the Sanctuary. We alternate topics each year focusing on both the Lord’s Prayer and the Ten Commandments. [2020 -in person classes are currently on hold during the pastoral vacancy]

9th Grade Faith Formation [typically] takes place on the first Sunday of each month for 4 hour periods. During this year of faith formation we focus on the Apostles’ Creed and what it is that we believe. If you would like more information about when the next meeting will happen, please contact Curt.

Fellowship

Sunday fellowship takes place downstairs immediately following Sunday worship. There is typically coffee, lemonade, and delicious treats. We hope you will join us!

Wednesday fellowship takes place before worship with a meal at 5:15pm. This meal is open for all and a great opportunity to get to know some of the people in this community.
